Our Mission

Worth becomes confidence.
Guidance becomes momentum.

Our mission is to empower current and former foster youth with consistent relationships, essential resources and real-world skills so they can build stable, independent and purpose-filled lives.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every young person leaving foster care knows they are worthy, has someone to call and possesses the tools to confidently choose their next direction.

Why I Am FAMOUS Exists

Adulthood arrives all at once.

Young people leaving foster care may suddenly face housing, employment, education, financial and adult-life decisions without the consistent family network many peers rely on.

IAF exists to help close that relationship and resource gap — not by deciding for a young person, but by making sure they are not deciding alone.

  1. The relationship gap

Most young adults lean on family for advice, a couch, a co-signature or a ride. Aging out can remove that safety net overnight.

  2. The resource gap

Identification, housing paperwork, benefits, transportation and healthcare each have their own system to navigate — often all at the same time.

  3. What closes it

Consistency. One reliable adult, practical skills and a community that keeps showing up long after the transition is over.

What Guides Our Work

You are not lost. You are becoming.

Four commitments shape every program, match and conversation at IAF.

Worth

We start from the belief that a young person’s value was never in question. Support should sound like it.

Purpose

Goals belong to the young person. Our job is to help make them reachable, not to hand someone a different life.

Belonging

Community is not a program outcome. It is the thing that makes every other outcome possible.

Direction

Direction is not a destination we assign. It is the next honest step, taken with someone who stays.
